Playing Morioh High on a phone or a controller

Checked

Do this before you rebind or report. Stand up completely from any classroom chair or bench, return your character to neutral stance, and tap Z to summon your Stand. Most missing skill buttons on mobile and gamepad are simply seated state locks.

The three rules

  1. Stand up before summoning. The game engine explicitly disallows Stand summoning while seated at a school desk or cafeteria bench; on-screen combat buttons remain hidden until you stand.
  2. Distinguish missed timings from broken buttons. Tapping a barrage button while in hitstun or after an opponent dashes out of range is a mistimed execution, not an unresponsive button.
  3. Update client files before filing bug reports. Launch-week patches directly resolved mobile scrolling, shift lock, fighting style sprints, and console Arrow pickups within days of release.

Trap: assuming sitting in class lets you summon

The most frequent complaint from mobile and gamepad players is that their attack and barrage buttons disappear or stop responding while sitting in class. The game engine locks all combat actions while your character occupies a seat. Standing up immediately unfreezes your control layout and restores combat HUD elements.

The launch patches and confirmed fixes

The development team pushed rapid hotfixes across the opening week to stabilize non-PC platforms:

  • Launch Day (10 October): fixed mobile scrolling, menu code redemption, sprinting on mobile while a fighting style is active, mobile shift lock, and console Arrow pickup. Introduced a two-row settings layout for mobile screens.
  • 11–12 October: patched mobile blocking reliability, the library classroom minigame, and controller navigation inside detention.
  • 18 October: introduced mobile arrow controls for the Photography class assignment.

A note in the patch log confirms what was addressed; make sure your Roblox client is fully updated before assuming a bug persists.

Diagnostic guide: broken control versus mistimed input

When a button seems unresponsive, evaluate the symptom against three distinct causes:

  • The button is missing from the screen: check your character state. If seated, holding a non-combat item, or if your Stand is currently withdrawn, combat buttons remain dormant by design.
  • The button is visible but clicking does nothing: this reflects genuine input drop. Reconnect your controller, verify network ping, or restart the client session.
  • The animation starts but deals no damage: this is spacing or latency. A barrage triggered after a foe dodges will complete its animation without logging hit counts.

The keyboard-language exception

During classroom detention, the game prompts players to type exact sentences on screen. Players utilizing certain international layouts, such as Turkish keyboards, have reported specific characters failing to register. If detention typing fails, switch your device input method to standard US QWERTY for the duration of the mini-game.
